Notes:  In celebration of National Pollinator Week we have invited Bob Sears, President of the Eastern Missouri Beekeepers Association, to discuss the art of beekeeping. Bob has kept hives in the Central West End and Franklin County for twenty-three years and he will share his story of becoming an urban and rural beekeeper. He will also discuss the life of a honey bee colony, some of the challenges to keeping his hives healthy and thriving and touch on the critical role that bees play in agriculture and food production. As a special treat Bob will provide tastings of honey from his different hives and explain why each hive produces different flavors in the honey.
