The Truitt Law Firm, LLC, Brightside St. Louis, Saint Louis City Recycles and other partners invite St. Louis area residents to “Unstash that Trash” and the “CARE (Community Art & Recycling Engagement) Picnic” for a recycling event at the William J. Harrison Community Education Building, located at 3140 Cass Ave. from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, September 16th, 2017. The event encourages responsible recycling and waste management in under-served communities.
Participants are encouraged to bring recyclables, including electronics, clothing and shoes, expired/unused medications, and batteries. Paper shredding and computer hard drive destruction will be offered on-site. Participants of all ages can engage in hands-on activities, art projects, games, and tour the LEED certified William J. Harrison Community Education Center. St. Louis City residents can make on-site service requests for trash and debris removal. All services are free and includes a chance to win attendance prizes and a free lunch to participants that bring at least one item to recycle. Funding for this event is provided, in part, by Enterprise Community Partners and The Truitt Law Firm, LLC.
The event features the following vendors: Nilo-Tech E-cycling, Pro-shred, the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, St. Louis Earth Day, St. Louis Police Department, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conservation-Powder Valley, Missouri State Parks—St. Louis Area Office, Metropolitan Sewer District, City of St. Louis, Missouri Stream Teams, Wildlife Rescue Center, Perennial, Brightside St. Louis, Saint Louis City Recycles, Walgreens, Earthways Center of the Missouri Botanical Garden, The Sierra Club, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, and Great Rivers Environmental Law Center.
